Service Description
Welcome to our Art Around the World Summer Camp for 6-12 year olds! Our week 1 program is designed to introduce campers to various forms of indigenous art, including totem pole making, dream catchers, and feather painting. Here's a detailed description of what to expect: • Totem Pole Making Our campers will learn about the significance of totem poles in indigenous culture. They will be introduced to the different symbols and animals used in totem pole carving, and they will create their own mini totem poles using wooden dowels and acrylic paint. • Dream Catchers Campers will learn about the history and significance of dream catchers in indigenous culture, as well as the different materials used to make them. They will then create their own dream catchers using willow hoops, feathers, and beads. • Feather Painting Campers will learn about the traditional uses of feathers in indigenous art and culture. They will be introduced to the different techniques used to paint on feathers, and they will create their own feather paintings using watercolor paints and real feathers. Throughout the week, campers will also participate in group discussions and activities to learn more about the history and traditions of indigenous art. They will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and perspectives, and to learn from each other. The cost of the program is $175 per camper before May 1st, and there is a $25 registration fee that covers a complimentary t-shirt and all necessary supplies. The program runs from 9am to 12pm each day. We look forward to welcoming your child to our Art Around the World Summer Camp!
