Service Description

Welcome to our Art Around the World Summer Camp for 6–12-year-olds! Our week 5 program is designed to introduce campers to various art forms from Aboriginal subcultures, including Aboriginal dot painting, boomerangs, and storytelling. Here's a detailed description of what to expect: Day 1: Aboriginal Dot Painting On the first day of camp, our campers will learn about the traditional art form of Aboriginal Dot Painting. They will be introduced to the history of Aboriginal art, the different meanings behind the dots and symbols used, and the techniques of dot painting. Campers will create their own Aboriginal dot paintings using acrylic paints and canvas. Day 2: Boomerangs Campers will learn about the significance of boomerangs in Aboriginal culture. They will be introduced to the different types of boomerangs used and the meaning behind their shapes and designs. Campers will create their own boomerangs using wood, paint, and markers. Day 3: Storytelling On day 3, campers will learn about the importance of storytelling in Aboriginal culture. They will be introduced to the different types of stories told, and the way they are passed down through generations. Campers will create their own storybook or comic strip based on an Aboriginal story using paper, pencils, and markers. Throughout the week, campers will also participate in group discussions and activities to learn more about the history and traditions of Aboriginal art. They will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and perspectives, and to learn from each other. The cost of the program is $175 per camper before May 1st, and there is a $25 registration fee that covers a complimentary t-shirt and all necessary supplies. The program runs from 9am to 12pm each day. We look forward to welcoming your child to our Art Around the World Summer Camp!
