En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air”, and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color, and movement into their works.

This workshop will start at Ethotera Art Studio, where the instructor will show examples and discuss painting techniques before moving on to the plein air location. Materials will not be included. Seasoned painters are welcome to bring their own materials and equipment, while beginners will have the opportunity to purchase a supply kit comparable to the materials Dr.Richmond uses with her own…
