What is Ethotera Art Studio?
Ethotera is a vibrant, one of a kind, art center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast that offers art classes, workshops, custom framing, and the only locally owned art supply store on the Coast. We serve artists of all ages and skill levels and aim to inspire creativity, foster community, and promote artistic growth.
What does Ethotera mean?
Ethotera is a name inspired by the words Ethos and Terra, meaning “Spirit of the Earth.” It reflects our commitment to fostering creativity in a grounded, nature-inspired environment.
What types of art classes are offered?
We offer a wide range of art classes for all ages, from beginner to advanced. Classes cover drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media, with both one-time workshops and multi-session courses.
How do I register for a class or workshop?
You can register for classes directly on our website by visiting the Class Schedule page, or you can register in person at our studio.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes, we offer private lessons for individuals and small groups tailored to the interests and skill levels of the participants. Contact us to learn more about scheduling and rates.
Do you require payment up front?
Yes, payment is generally required upon registration to secure your spot in the class. If you would like to register online and come in to pay with cash or check, know that your spot will not be reserved until we have your payment. If you have any questions about payment options or deposits, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What should I bring to class?
Supply lists are available with each class description. A full materials list will also be emailed to you once you register online and we will have hard copies in the shop. Many classes include materials, while others allow you to bring your own or purchase items in our on-site art supply store.
Can I reschedule or cancel my lesson?
To reschedule, please send an email to ethotera@gmail.com. If you booked for more than one person, you must reschedule them also! For cancellations, we need at least 72 hours notice in order for you to get a refund. Absolutely no refunds for no-shows and late cancellations. Thank you so much for understanding.
I'm running late for my session. What is your policy?
If you are running more than 5 minutes late, please note we may not be able to start over for you. We often have a waitlist and people are eager to take your seat! Thank you for understanding. You might be able to reschedule your appointment, or schedule a time to get caught up for an additional fee.
Do you sell art supplies?
Yes, we are the only locally owned art supply store on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, offering a carefully curated selection of quality art supplies suitable for all ages and levels.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
There are no returns for custom orders. Exchanges can be done within 30 days, and refunds can be issued in 7 days if returned unopened, in original packaging, and in perfect condition. All sales are final on items marked for clearance. Contact us at info@ethotera.com for more info.
Do you offer private events or art parties?
Yes! Ethotera Art Studio is a perfect venue for art parties, including bachelorette parties, birthdays, and team-building events. We can tailor the activity to suit the theme or goals of your event. For more information or to reserve a date, please contact us.
Do you offer memberships or discounts?
We occasionally offer discounts and promotions, such as our current framing discount, and also provide reduced rates for some events and repeat customers. Sign up for our newsletter to stay updated!
How can I apply to teach a workshop at Ethotera?
We’re always looking for passionate and skilled instructors. If you’re interested in teaching a class or workshop, please review our instructor guidelines and submit a proposal. Once submitted, we’ll reach out to discuss the details and see if there’s a fit.
Do you offer offsite workshops?
Do you want us to come to your event or party and create an art project for your guests? Give us a call or come by the studio to discuss ideas, pricing, and limitations.
Do you offer custom framing?
Yes, we offer custom framing services tailored to suit a wide variety of artwork and budgets. Our team will guide you in selecting the best matting, glass, and frame materials to complement and protect your piece. Since choices vary significantly in price, we encourage you to bring your artwork in for a consultation, where we’ll explore all the options together to find the perfect fit! We are unable to do quotes over the phone.
