Carol Hutcherson

Artist, Art Educator

Art educator and multi-media studio artist, Carol Hutcherson has won numerous awards along the cost for her drawings and paintings. The most recent is the Kathy Lounsberry Award of Excellence at the 2023 Ocean Springs annual judged show. She is also the recipient of the 2024 MS Art Commission grant.


Formerly educated at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, her life-long art career includes public and private teaching. Since 2011, multiple disciplines have been explored and exhibited including drawing, painting, collage, clay, and jewelry design.


Recognition and juried show acceptance include the Ohr- O'keefe Museum in Biloxi, the Walter Anderson Museum, and the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center, both in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and the South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado, Arkansas. Artwork is currently on display at the Gulfport Arts Center housed in the historical Carnegie Library Building.
