Service Description

In this 6 week class, Bruce Seabolt will teach students about composition and how to care for tools and materials. This class allows students to experiment with different styles of acrylic painting and palette knife techniques used in Bruce's artistic career. So whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist looking to refine your skills, this class is a supportive environment for artists of all levels. "An essential thing I like for my students to know is to relax and have fun. You will learn how to paint in whichever medium you choose.' Bruce's nurturing teaching style allows students to comfortably work at their own pace. Landscapes in Acrylic will be held for 6 weeks starting on Tuesday, April 23rd from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM. This class has a following and will fill up quickly! Register today! ACRYLICS MATERIALS LIST (This is a condensed list for materials to start a class) Class: Introduction to painting representational realism with acrylics. Project: Landscapes / Seascapes The materials needed are: Palette, (recommended, a Masterson plastic lid-sealed palette. It is a blue, 16 x 12 x 1.5 inch palette that can be used with other mediums and is air tight. Palette paper: The size that fits the palette container, 12 x 16 inch pad of 40 sheets. Palette knife: I recommend a small metal knife with a wooden handle. Stretched canvas: A 16 x 20 or a canvas near that size is best to start. Brushes: Synthetic or good soft bristle. I use synthetic mostly. Not nylon Flats and Filberts to start with: sizes: 2,4,6 and 20 or 28 20 and 28 are background brushes and important to have. Round brushes: 2 and 6 are good to start with. Script Liners: Sizes 1,2 or 3. You will find going through the classes. Paints: Colors to start with: Cobalt Blue Light Blue Permanent Yellow Ochre Titanium White Burnt Umber Black Cadmium Yellow Light Sap Green Cadmium Red Light Brush Cleaner: A container for water and paper towels. A small spray bottle for water is needed to keep the acrylics moist. These are the basic materials to paint landscapes and seascapes. We will go over all materials in class and I will help you with your selections.
